Microsuction is a gentle and effective method of removing excess ear wax. A small suction device is used to carefully remove the wax while the ear canal is viewed throughout the procedure.
Yes. We recommend using EAROL® olive oil spray before your appointment to help soften the ear wax and make removal easier. Full preparation guidance can be found on our Appointments & Prices page.
We’ll first examine your ears and talk you through the procedure. If there is wax suitable for removal, microsuction is then used to carefully remove it while the ear canal is viewed throughout. As this is a mobile service, the treatment takes place in the comfort of your own home.
Microsuction is generally a comfortable procedure. You may hear some noise from the suction equipment and experience unusual sensations as the wax is removed. We’ll explain what is happening throughout and you can ask us to stop at any time if you feel uncomfortable.
We offer both microsuction and ear irrigation. Your ears will be assessed at the appointment and the most appropriate method will be discussed with you before treatment begins.
Yes. If you wear hearing aids, please let us know when you enquire about an appointment. Mark can assess your ears and discuss the appropriate treatment with you.
EreEar provides home visits across Cramlington, Morpeth, Newcastle and surrounding areas. If you're unsure whether we cover your area, please get in touch and we'll be happy to let you know. A Tyne Tunnel surcharge may apply depending on your location.
Ear wax removal costs £35 for one ear or £60 for both ears. An Armed Forces discount is also available. As EreEar is a mobile service, a Tyne Tunnel surcharge may apply depending on your location.
